FORMAT:

6 round Swiss. 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move per player from move 1.

SCHEDULE:

Saturday the 8th of June

  • Opening Ceremony - 1:30pm

  • Round 1 - 2:00pm

  • Round 2 - 6:00pm

Sunday the 9th of June

  • Round 3 - 10:00am

  • Round 4 - 2:00pm

  • Round 5 - 6:00pm

Monday the 10th of June

  • Round 6 - 10:00am

  • Closing Ceremony - 2:00pm

Entries close at 1pm on the 8th of June.

FEES & LEVIES:

Entry fees may be paid online. Entry fees may also be paid by cash on the day (please tender correct change), by card on the day or by direct transfer.

Entries before May 25th will also receive a 10 dollars early bird discount.

  • Adults $60

  • Juniors (under 18 years) $30

In accordance with section 3 of the TCA Constitution, Tasmanian players not already a member of the TCA must pay an Individual TCA Membership levy in addition to their entry fee. This fee entitles the individual to all items listed under rule 3.2 of the constitution until the commencement of the next TCA financial year (rule 6.5)

Rating division will be decided on the day. Rating division is decided by ACF rating.

2 additional arbiters to be selected from the entrants.

BYES & NON-ATTENDANCE:

Each competitor may take one half point bye, limited to rounds 1 to 4 only. Half point byes for rounds 2-4 must be requested before the start of the previous round.

Forced byes generated due to pairing requirements will be given a score of 1 point.

Unnotified non-attendance will attract a forfeit and 0 points. 2 instances of unnotified non-attendance will result in withdrawal from the tournament.

NOTES:

FIDE Laws apply – ringing mobiles will incur automatic loss. Entrants agree to abide by all decisions of the organisers and arbiters. The organisers reserve the right to make any changes required.

This tournament will be both ACF rated and FIDE rated.

The tournament has a 30 minute default time. If you are more than 30 minutes late, you take a forfeit.

This TCA tournament has been organised and operated to comply with the TCA Constitution and the Tournament Guidelines of the TCA.
