FORMAT:

7 round Swiss. 25 minutes plus 10 seconds per move per player from move 1.

SCHEDULE:

Saturday the 30th. of October:

  • Round 1 - 12:00 noon

  • Round 2 - 1:30 pm

  • Round 3 - 3:00pm

  • Round 4 - 4:30pm

Sunday the 31st. of October

  • Round 5 - 9:30 am

  • Round 6 - 11:00 am

  • Round 7 - 12:30 pm

ENTRIES:

All competitors MUST enter online using the digital registration form below.

Entries close at 5pm on Friday the 29th. of October.

FEES & LEVIES:

Entry fees may be paid on the day either in cash or using our Credit/Debit facility, or online prior to the event by using a Credit/Debit card or PayPal, or by direct transfer to the TCA.

  • Adult $25

  • Junior (under 18) $10

  • TCA Levy (if not a member of the TCA) Seniors$25 /Juniors $10

In accordance with section 3 of the TCA Constitution, Tasmanian players not already a member of the TCA must pay an Individual TCA Membership levy in addition to their entry fee. This fee entitles the individual to all items listed under rule 3.2 of the constitution until the commencement of the next TCA financial year (rule 6.5)

PRIZES:

  • 1st 40%

  • 2nd 20%

  • 3rd 10%

  • U1650 10%

  • U1500 10%

  • Junior (to be determined)

Prizes other than 1st and 2nd subject to at least 3 eligible entries. Prize pool is 90% + the confirmed junior prize of entry fees minus running costs and levies.

2 additional arbiters to be selected from the entrants.

HALF-POINT BYES:

Competitors may take up to 2 half-point byes during rounds 1-5 of this event. Half point byes are not available in rounds 6 or 7. Half-point bye requests for rounds 1 and 2 must be notified to the Director of Play before the start of round 1. Half-point bye requests for rounds 3, 4, & 5 must be notified before the start of the preceding round round. Late requests may be declined and result in either a 0 point bye, or a time forfeit.

NOTES:

FIDE Laws 2018 apply – ringing mobiles will incur automatic loss. Entrants agree to abide by all decisions of the organisers and arbiters. The organisers reserve the right to make any changes required.
