FORMAT:
9 round Swiss. 3 minutes plus 2 seconds per move per player from move 1.
SCHEDULE:
Saturday the 17th of August: Round 1 will commence at 7pm with all rounds proceeding as soon as possible after the previous round finishes. Short breaks will be taken as appropriate throughout the tournament.
ENTRIES:
Competitors may enter online using the registration form below, or enter on the night before the start of round 1. Competitors wishing to pay their entry online should complete the online registration to avoid confusion.
Entries close at 6:30 pm on Saturday the 17th of August.
FEES & LEVIES:
Entry fees may be paid on the day in cash (cash only for on-the-day payments), or online prior to the event by credit card or PayPal, or by direct transfer to the TCA.

In accordance with section 3 of the TCA Constitution, Tasmanian players not already a member of the TCA must pay an Individual TCA Membership levy in addition to their entry fee. This fee entitles the individual to all items listed under rule 3.2 of the constitution until the commencement of the next TCA financial year (rule 6.5)

Prizes other than 1st and 2nd subject to at least 3 eligible entries. Prize pool is 100% of entry fees minus running costs and levies.
TITLES:
Winners of the Tasmanian Lightning Championship shall be conferred the title of “Tasmanian Lightning Chess Champion” in accordance with the TCA’s State Title Eligibility Policy.

FIDE Laws 2018 apply – ringing mobiles will incur automatic loss. Entrants agree to abide by all decisions of the organisers and arbiters. The organisers reserve the right to make any changes required.
