FEES & LEVIES:
Entry fees may be paid on the day in cash (please tender the correct change) or by credit card. Entry fees may also be paid online prior to the event by credit card or PayPal, or by direct transfer.

In accordance with section 3 of the TCA Constitution, Tasmanian players not already a member of the TCA must pay an Individual TCA Membership levy in addition to their entry fee. This fee entitles the individual to all items listed under rule 3.2 of the constitution until the commencement of the next TCA financial year (rule 6.5)
PRIZES:
The 2023 Rapid Chess Championship is a fundraising event with all entry fees being donated to the TCA to help administer chess in the state of Tasmania. Book prizes and other donations may be awarded to the winners and/or place getters depending on the number of donations received.

BYES & NON-ATTENDANCE:
Each competitor may take up to 2 byes in addition to any generated due to pairing requirements.
Forced byes generated due to pairing requirements will be given a score of 1 point.
Voluntary byes taken in rounds 1-5 will be given a score of 0.5 points.
Voluntary byes taken in rounds 6 or 7 will be given a score of 0 points.
Unnotified non-attendance will attract a forfeit and 0 points. 2 instances of unnotified non-attendance will result in withdrawal from the tournament.

FIDE Laws 2018 apply – ringing mobiles will incur automatic loss. Entrants agree to abide by all decisions of the organisers and arbiters. The organisers reserve the right to make any changes required.
