Tony Sturges Memorial Tournament

FORMAT:

The 9th Sturges Memorial (set positions theme tournament) will be on in Hobart on Anzac Day. The event commemorates Tony (Thelston) Sturges (1953-2013), a great Tasmanian character, patron of the chess scene and its players and devotee of offbeat openings. This is a fundraiser for the TCA. The 7th annual Sturges Memorial scheduled for 2020 was cancelled due to COVID.

ENTRIES:

Registrations close at 7:00pm on the 25th of April. You can register online, or in person on the day.

FEES & LEVIES:

Entry fees may be paid on the day in cash (please tender the correct change). Entry fees may also be paid online prior to the event by credit card or PayPal, or by direct transfer.

The TCA Membership Levy does not apply to this event. This event is open to all players regardless of local club or association membership. All moneys are donated to the Tasmanian Chess Association.

FIDE Laws 2018 apply – ringing mobiles will incur automatic loss. Entrants agree to abide by all decisions of the organisers and arbiters. The organisers reserve the right to make any changes required.
